[ARCHIVED] Election Details Announced

Fredericksburg, Texas – The City of Fredericksburg will hold a GeneralElection on Saturday, May 2, to elect a Mayor and two City Councilmembers.


All voting will take place at the Gillespie County Elections Office at 95 Frederick Rd.

On Election Day, the voting location will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Early voting by personal appearance will take place on Monday, April 20, and continue through Friday,April 24 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. No voting will be held on Saturday or Sunday, April25-26, but early voting will continue from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, April 27-28.

On the ballot in2026 are two candidates - Randy Briley and Emily Kirchner - for Mayor as incumbent Jeryl Hoover has chosen to not seek reelection. There are also four candidates for the two council seats - incumbent Tony Klein, Charlie Kiehne, Jerry Luckenbach and Gary Neffendorf.

Voting in the General Election is open to qualified and registered voters within the City of Fredericksburg. A photo ID must be presented to vote in all Texas elections. To view the list of acceptable forms of ID and voting requirements, click here.

 

Applications for aBallot by Mail must be received by the City Secretary by 5 p.m. on Monday,April 20. For a list of eligibility requirements to request an application forBallot by Mail, click here.
