City of Fredericksburg Elections
The City of Fredericksburg typically conducts a general election each year to elect City Councilmembers with additional Special Elections held as needed for charter amendments.
The Office of the City Secretary manages and oversees all aspects of the City of Fredericksburg’s Municipal Elections in accordance with the Texas Election Code and the City of Fredericksburg Charter. The Office is also responsible for providing municipal candidates, officeholders, and specific-purpose committees election information, forms, deadlines, and other documents related to election information. The Office of the City Secretary is responsible for meeting all legal requirements and postings that notify voters of upcoming elections. The City may contract with the Gillespie County Election Administrator for all or part of the Election Services. The authority with whom required city election documents are filed and required notices remain with the Office of the City Secretary. The Office also preserves the required documents in accordance with the State of Texas Library and Archive Commission Retention Schedule.

- Completed Application(s) for Place on the Ballot can be mailed to: ATTN: City Secretary Leticia Vacek at 126 W. Main Street, Fredericksburg, Texas 78624. The deadline to file the Application for a Place on the Ballot is February 13, 2026 by 5 p.m.. If mailed, the application must be received by February 13, 2026. For more information, click here.
