Boards & Commissions

The City Secretary's Office receives applications from citizens interested in contributing to their community by volunteering to serve on a board or commission. The various boards and commissions act as an advisory board to the Council and in some instances, they are the final body for action.
 
Membership

 Appointments to boards and commissions are made annually in June and December and the terms depend on the position and commission unless otherwise noted by ordinance.
 

Application

 If you are interested in being part of our team, please complete an application and return it to the City Secretary's Office at 126 W. Main Street, Fredericksburg, Texas 78624. You may also complete the form online or send via e-mail. Applications are kept on file for one year from the date of receipt.
 
Applications are maintained for 1 year. Applications are provided to the City Council during annual appointments or what a vacancy arises. If you would like to be notified of vacancies or annual appointments, please subscribe to our notification list.
 
 Residents are appointed by the City Council to serve on the following boards and commissions:

  • Board of Adjustment
  • Economic Development Commission
  • Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau
  • Gillespie County Public Health Board
  • Historic Review Commission
  • Market Square Redevelopment Commission
  • Planning & Zoning Commission
