Fredericksburg, Texas – The City of Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Clear River Ice Cream and Bakery, will hold a Gingerbread House Decorating Contest on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Registration for the event starts on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and is open to children ages 5-12. A $10 entry fee is required for participation, but all supplies will be provided on the day of the competition. To register, please visit https://www.fbgtx.org/1218/Gingerbread-House-Decorating-Competition.
Registered participants will come to the John Wm. Klein Room at 115 N. Crockett St. in December from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to decorate. No outside decorations are allowed, and decorating can be done for one hour with no physical assistance from others.
On the night of the competition, first, second, & third place prizes will be awarded in four age categories: 5 & 6; 7 & 8; 9 & 10; 11 & 12. Additionally, a People’s Choice Award winner will be selected in an online vote by December 20 at 5 p.m. That winner receives a $50 Clear River gift card.
Unassembled houses will be available to purchase the night of the competition to take home.
