Fredericksburg, Texas – The City of Fredericksburg and the Market Square Redevelopment Commission will host a dedication on Wednesday, June 5 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the completion of Marktplatz’s Phase I and II capital improvements.
The highlight of the improvements is the John Wm. Klein Room, located on the northwest corner of Marktplatz and adjacent to playground.
Other improvements and additions, include new public restrooms on the Northwest corner of the town’s square and bronze busts honoring local legends Lyndon B. Johnson (36th President of the United States) and Chester W. Nimitz (Fleet Admiral Commander of the United States’ Pacific Fleet in World War II).
The dedication will start in the Pioneer Memorial Garden with the unveiling of the busts, followed by a ribbon cutting celebration at the Klein Room and then a reception.
The Market Square Redevelopment Commission raised nearly $2 million for the Phase III capital improvements. Major donors for the project will be recognized at the dedication.

The City of Fredericksburg will begin accepting reservations for the new meeting/gathering room on June 4with reservation availability starting June 18.
Rental costs start at $500 and come with the opportunity to use 10 72” round tables, 120 black mesh chairs, refrigerator, freezer, prep table and mobile podium The room is also wired and features a large screen TV for audio and visual presentations.
The room’s seating capacity is 120 theater-style and 80-90 banquet-style. It features a main room, serving area, kitchenette and catering area, along with an outdoor patio.
