Special Events
Fredericksburg's hill country location and beautiful scenery make it the perfect location
for special events. Each year, the City of Fredericksburg hosts festivals, concerts, parades,
races & runs, fundraisers, art exhibitions, swap meets and more.

The Special Events Planning Guide makes it easy for event organizers to navigate the process to obtain a special event permit. The guide assists event organizers through the City permitting process by providing requirements and guidelines necessary to produce a special event. Below, you will find a link to download the Special Events Planning Guide and Special Event Applications.
Process to obtain a Special Event Permit:
- Check availability for your event date and facility. Then, complete and return a special event application no more than 365 days in advance, but no less than 60 days in advance. Please note that first-time events must also include a $100.00 first-time event fee for the application review process with your completed application.
- Staff will respond to your application within ten (10) business days.
- Pay required security deposits and reservation fees and attend a special event committee meeting (if required).
- Meet all requirements (obtain insurance, health permits, schedule security, etc.).
- Special Event Permit issued.
Special events at Marktplatz and Parades will use the Special Events Application linked below and contact Jennifer Krupa, Special Events Coordinator for more information at: specialevents@fbgtx.org or call 830-990-2044.
Special events (including sport tournaments) at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park, Oakcrest Park, Old Fair Park, or Park Pool will use the Special Events for City Parks Special Event Application linked below and can contact Hailey Olden at Park Headquarters for more information.
