Utility Billing Department
The City of Fredericksburg Utility Billing Department is conveniently located downstairs inside City Hall at 126 West Main Street. Our dedicated Customer Service Representatives are here to assist you with utility payments, setting up new service accounts, and discontinuing existing services for all City utility customers.
Operating Hours & Utility Bill Information
Our office is open from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, to serve you. For your convenience, utility payments can also be made after hours using the drop box at City Hall or the designated drop box located at the Broadway Bank drive-thru across Crockett Street.
Utility bills for the City of Fredericksburg are sent out no later than the 7th of each month. Residents are required to pay their utility bills by the 22nd of the same month to avoid any late fees. If the 22nd occurs on a weekend, bills are due on the following Monday by 4:30 p.m.
For your convenience, multiple payment options are available, including online payments, mail, and in-person at the Utility Billing Office located at 126 W Main St. If you have any questions regarding your bill or payment options, please contact the Utility Billing Office at (830) 990-2031.
Additional Information for Electric and Water Utility Customers
City of Fredericksburg electric and water utility customers can monitor their usage and receive alerts for potential water leaks. To take advantage of this feature, please create an account in the Sensus Customer Portal. There is no additional cost to set up this account. You will need the following information:
- Utility account number (omit the dash when entering the number)
- Reverse the name of how it appears on statement - Last name first, first name last in all caps
- Email address
- Phone number (for text message alerts)
- Create a password
