Fredericksburg, Texas – The Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Pool and Town Pool will open for the summer on Saturday, May 24.

The Park Pool is located inside Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park at 432 Lady Bird Dr. Besides the standard pool, the facility features 25-yard lap swim lanes, a diving board, a zero to 4-foot leisure pool and a zero-1-foot kiddie pool.

At Town Pool, there is a Vortex Water Slide, in water basketball with regulation goal and zero to 1-foot large kiddie pool. Those amenities compliment the standard pool, which is 25 yards long and features depths of three to five feet.

General hours of operation are as follows.

PARK POOL HOURS:

Open Wednesday-Monday

1-6:30 p.m.

TOWN POOL HOURS:

Open Tuesday-Sunday

1-6:30 p.m.

However, pool open hours may be adjusted based on lifeguard availability this summer and will close when capacity is reached. To check current conditions at the pools, please call them directly at (830) 997-8660 (Park) and (830) 997-8879 (Town).

FEES

An entry fee of $2.00 per person (all ages) will be assessed. A 12 Punch Pass card will be offered this summer for $20 each. Aquatics facilities will accept payment in cash, checks, and are now accepting payment via card, however, with a 3% convenience fee.

PRIVATE POOL EVENTS

Private pool party requests are now being accepted for events in June or later and will be approved on a case-by-case basis depending on lifeguard availability.

The town’s Splash Pad opened for the 2025 summer season on Saturday, May 3. Located along West Schubert Street, adjacent to the Tony Knopp Town Pool, it is already welcoming guests six days a week, Tuesday-Sunday, while being closed on Mondays for maintenance. The Splash Pad’s hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Entry to the Splash Pad is free, while guests will have access to the restrooms at Town Pool during the hours of operation. The Splash Pad is expected to be open through September, weather permitting.
