Fredericksburg, Texas – The City of Fredericksburg’s Code Enforcement and Development Services Department hosted a meeting for Short-Term Rental (STR) Owners and Operators on Tuesday evening at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center.
Over 80 people attended the event, which was aimed at helping to increase the passing rate for STR inspections as well as provide a forum to introduce STR owners to staff and software used in STR operations of the City.
Common areas of failure in STR inspections were highlighted, including hot tubs, fire extinguishers, outdoor lighting, fire pits and host rules. Meanwhile, attendees met new STR Specialist Tyler Baethge, who handles the permitting and inspection scheduling for the City.
Baethge along with Director of Development Services Anna Hudson, Planner 1 Jan Musgrove, Special Services Lieutenant Braxton Roemer and Code Enforcement Officer Ted Boyer were on hand to answer a wide variety of questions.
The City offers a step-by-step website of how STR owners can become and stay compliant with the new STR Ordinance that became effective on Jan. 1, 2024. Visit https://www.fbgtx.org/845/Short-Term-Rentalsfor more information.
