Personnel
The Fredericksburg Fire Department is comprised of a diverse and highly skilled team of professionals, including:
- Firefighters: Our firefighters are trained to respond to a variety of emergencies, from structural fires to hazardous material incidents. They undergo rigorous training to stay prepared for any situation.
- Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics: Our EMS personnel provide critical medical care and transport during emergencies. They are equipped with the latest medical technology and training to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Fire Marshal: This staff member works to prevent fires through inspections and investigations. They ensure compliance with fire codes and investigate the causes of fires to prevent future incidents.
- Administrative Staff: Our administrative team supports the department’s operations, handling everything from logistics and communications to community outreach and education programs.
Each member of our team plays a vital role in our mission to protect and serve the Fredericksburg community. We are proud of our dedicated personnel who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
Captain Johnny Carroll
Johnny Carroll is a lifetime resident of Fredericksburg. Johnny has been a volunteer with the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department since 2002 and was promoted to full time employment as Lieutenant in 2014.
Captain Lee Dreyer
Lee Dreyer lives a life dedicated to family, community, and service. He started his career with Fredericksburg EMS as a part-time EMT Basic in 2009 and obtained full time employment as a Firefighter/Paramedic in 2014. He was promoted to the position of Driver in 2019 and then to a Captain in 2021.
Captain Fred Feuge
Fred Feuge is a lifetime resident of Fredericksburg. He has been a volunteer with the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department since 2002 and was promoted to full time employment as Lieutenant in 2012.
Captain Harvey Lansford
Harvey Lansford moved to Gillespie in 1988 after high school. He joined the Stonewall Fire Department in 1989, obtained his EMT-B certification, and began volunteering with Gillespie County EMS, leading to part-time and then full-time employment in 1994. When the City of Fredericksburg took over the EMS Department in 2000, he transitioned to a City employee, was promoted to Captain in 2014, and obtained his TCFP Firefighter Commission in 2016. Harvey recently celebrated 30 years as a full-time employee.
Captain Bryan Marks
Bryan Marks has 27 years of experience in emergency medical services, beginning his career in 1998 in San Juan, Texas. He has worked in Harlingen and Kerrville, and since 2005, in Fredericksburg, where he was promoted to Captain in 2008. Bryan holds an A.A.S degree and is a licensed paramedic, living in Kerrville with his wife, a 5th-grade teacher. They have two children who are about to graduate from Texas Tech and Texas State.
Captain Michael Pressler
Michael Pressler is a lifetime resident of Fredericksburg and loves to give back to the community. He joined the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department in 2005 and served 13 years before joining the paid staff. Michael started out as a FF/EMT-B and then obtained his AEMT certification to be a paramedic. He was promoted to Driver in 2022 and became a Captain in 2025. Michael has an associate degree in diesel technology which helps with repairs on the department's fleet of vehicles. He has a wife and three boys that give back to the community.
