Marktplatz

The most visible City of Fredericksburg park is right in the center of historic downtown Fredericksburg. 

Marktplatz surrounds the Vereins Kirche, the city's most iconic structure. This octagonal building, which served as the first meeting hall, church and school in Fredericksburg, is a testament to the City's rich history.

Marktplatz is not just a historical site; it's a lively hub for community events. 

Throughout the year, it hosts festivals, concerts, and during the holiday season, an enchanting ice skating rink. Families can enjoy the playground, picnic areas, and ample space for gatherings.

Events open to the public or with 300 persons or more must complete a special event application and provide required general liability insurance.

Reservations for Weddings and Receptions  should complete the Rental Agreement for Weddings and return to the Special Events Coordinator. Please do not use the link below.
