The Fredericksburg Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7105 hosts the July Fourth “kiddie parade." This event is for children 12 years of age or younger. The event is free to any child who wants to participate. The VFW Post sponsors this event to encourage patriotism at a young age and to permit the expression of American ideals. The parade is totally supported by the VFW Post with member volunteers and VFW Post funds.
Main Street, Fredericksburg
The parade forms behind the Gillespie County Courthouse and begins at the intersection of Main and Adams streets. It travels east for three blocks on Main Street and then U-turns at Washington Street in front of the Nimitz Museum. The route then goes west on Main Street for eight (8) blocks and ends at Bowie Street. Those entries that wish to go to Market Square may turn right to Austin Street and travel back east to Market Square.
