Council Member Emily Kirchner

Emily Eppright Kirchner is a 6th generation Texan proud to call Fredericksburg home with her husband, Tim, and their two young children. Emily is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the LBJ School at the University of Texas at Austin. She worked at the Texas Capitol for over a decade, serving in the offices of three State Representatives and the Speaker of the House. She also worked for International Justice Mission in Washington DC, a human rights agency working to end violence against the poor. 

Emily is the council liaison to the Gillespie County Commissioner's Court, a member of the Gillespie County Eclipse Task Force, and is on the Comprehensive Plan and Parks Master Plan Advisory Committee. She is a founding member of the Fredericksburg Parks Foundation, on the board of Little Hearts Child Development Center, and a member of the Hill Country Leadership Institute inaugural cohort. She has served as a Hill Country Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Fredericksburg, and President of Leadership Gillespie County Class of 2022. Emily is honored to work for the residents of our city so we can all continue to live in a place we're proud of.
