A City Council workshop will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at the Hill Country University Center located at 2818 East U.S. Hwy 290 in Fredericksburg, to discuss proposed amendments to the City’s zoning regulations regarding short-term rentals (STRs).
The draft ordinance includes language that is proposed to be addedto our zoning regulations, which are included in BLUE. It also includes language that is proposed to be deleted from the current zoning regulations, which is shown in RED. These changes include several new and revised definitions for types of STRs, along with specific development standards for each type. It also includes new language that addresses the code enforcement issues dealing with parking, fire pits, outdoor lighting, trash containers, and hot tubs that were discussed at the various public meetings and recommended by Council members. The draft ordinance also includes new regulations for how STRs will be addressed in R-1 and R-2 zoning districts in terms of permitted and conditional uses.
Those interested in the proposed regulations are encouraged to review the draft changes and may contact Jason Lutz, Director of Development Services, at (830)990-2028 with any questions regarding the proposed amendments.
