COVID-19 Testing
Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Gillespie County, the demand for COVID testing in the community has also risen. This demand has caused a shortage of tests not only locally, but also nationwide.
**As of Friday, January 21, 2022, the Hill Country Community Needs Council will NO LONGER be distributing COVID-19 tests.**

Order FREE At-Home Tests
Free at-home tests can be ordered from https://www.covidtests.gov/. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order four (4) free at-home COVID-19 tests. The tests are completely free. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days.
What To Do If You Test Positive with an At-Home Test
If someone in your household tests positive, they should self-isolate and seek medical care from your healthcare provider as additional testing may be necessary. It is recommended they seek out a PCR test for verification of the positive test. PCR test locations in our area can be found at https://sanantonio.curativeinc.com. Follow up with your primary physician or seek medical care if necessary.
Vaccination Locations
For those wishing to be vaccinated for COVID-19, vaccination sites in Fredericksburg include Walgreens, H-E-B, Wal-Mart, and ValuMed Pharmacy. Local healthcare providers may also offer the vaccine.
