Pioneer Pavilion

At the end of the main park road in Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park is the largest indoor facility owned by the City. Pioneer Pavilion has been the location of signature events in Fredericksburg since its construction in 1971. It was built with profits from the 125th Anniversary. In 1996, funds from the the 150th Anniversary made possible a remodel.

The pavilion is designed to seat 300 to 400 comfortably. 500 is the maximum capacity for gathering. The versatility of the Pioneer Pavilion has been well documented as a banquet hall, wedding venue, and facility for large shows, conventions, public meetings, and concerts. Advanced reservation is required as the Pioneer Pavilion fills up early in the year.  Here is a list of facility rates.

  • Comfortable seating for 300 - 400; 69 tables and 700 chairs (Any additional tables and chairs must be secured from and outside rental company and is the responsibility of the renter.)
  • Gathering space for 500 maximum
  • Tables are 8' x 2.5'

  • Full service kitchen, stove, icebox, microwave
  • Walk in cooler for canned drinks or keg beer only (must be requested for use three days prior to the event)
